The patented technology of Hoya allows for the creation of a hardened glass that's thinner than the regular optical glass. This material helps reduce the overall thickness of filters to prevent vignetting while using ultra-wide angle lenses, and reflects light. A polarizing filter is used to filter the light that enters your camera's lens. It can remove unwanted light reflections from various surfaces, such as glass and water, and improve the contrast of photos. Since digital cameras are prone to getting damaged by stray light, you should avoid using bare-glass filters. Instead, use a multi-coated filter that's designed to minimize the effects of reflections. Black rimmed glass ensures that the light will not reflect off the filter's edge. Also, the ultra-thin frame helps prevent vignetting while protecting the lens cap. These filters feature a non-slip surface and are ideal for attaching and removing.
