Ricoh GR IV Announced Coming Fall 2025

Coming just in time for the holidays, the Ricoh GR IV is slated to his shelves in Fall 2025.  Building on the design of the GR III, the Ricoh GR IV will feature a 28mm equivalent f/2.8 lens with seven element lens design specifically tuned to minimize distortions and abberations, and large rear LCD for easy image and video capture.  The 26MP APS-C sensor is a nice jump up from the GR III's 24MP.   Internally camera will also feature 5 axis stabilization, an ISO range of up to 204,800, enhanced autofocus with face and eye detection, and increased built-in storage of 53GB.  Notably external storage will be handled via microSD rather than SD cards.

Externally the GR IV has a redesigned thumb dial and button layout to be more ergonomic and a toggle for the memory selection suggests that users will be able to easily switch between internal and external memory.  Overall the design is very similar to the GR III having the same compact and sleek body style.   These point and shoot cameras are meant to fit in your pocket or a handbag and is a favorite of street photographers for a reason.

We'll know more in the months to come, including pricing.   Stay tuned!  We'll open preorders here at whcamera.com as soon as we have those details from Ricoh.

In the meantime, the GR III is scheduled to be discontinued in July 2025 with limited stock available.
