The 35mm Digiscoping Lens was developed by Leica to address two main issues with their original adapter. One of these is its inability to take advantage of the magnification range that the eyepiece provides. This new lens mounts over the old one, making the APO-Televid a fixed-focal-length telephoto lens. It also allows users to easily remove and re-install it. The new adapter allows users to magnify their subjects using the eyepiece without having to remove the old one. It also keeps the versatility of the digiscoping tool by allowing users to focus on subjects with the lens. The adapter is made to fit the 25 to 50x 82mm and 65 to 135mm versions of the AKM-Televid spotting scopes. It features a durable and ergonomic design and is ideal for use with 20-APS-C cameras. Although the adapter accepts full-frame cameras, it can still cause vignetting depending on the magnification range. To minimize this issue, the company has used special glass elements that are designed to minimize light-loss. They are also multi-coated and have anti-reflection properties. The design of the adapter's mounting system prevented it from fitting older 77mm Televid spotters.
