Immersive and Intuitive Design
The Zf recalls the old-fashioned mechanical model of Nikon, the FM2. Its knurled edges, marble texture, and precise carving are designed to immerse the user in its sensual experience. Its aluminum construction and engraved markings for manual control are also impressive. Its built-in mechanical shutter has an audible and authoritative click, and it features a dedicated black and white mode.
The intuitive design doesn't just apply to the camera's retro-looking controls. Its electronic viewfinder is also designed to be used with the device's 3.2-inch vari-angle LCD screen. This feature allows the user to easily move focus points and track the subject while the eye is still resting against the screen.
Its rear screen is also capable of articulating. This feature helps users easily operate the camera at low and high angles.

The Zf is a 24.5MP sensor that features a fast readout speed, excellent low-light performance, and a variety of features to enhance the recording of time-lapse videos, movies, and continuous shooting. Its back-illuminated design provides a clean and bright high-sensitivity output that's ideal for low noise when working at ISO settings. It also features a high-resolution mode that allows users to create a single 96MP image.
EXPEED 7 Image Processor
The EXPEED 7 image processor is the same technology used in the Z9 and Z8. It helps the camera achieve impressive fast AF speeds, as well as high burst shooting rates and a wide range of video capabilities.
The camera features a deep learning algorithm that can analyze your shooting environment and automatically adjusts the settings to meet your needs. It can also take portraits with a beautiful background blur and focus on all of the faces in the group shot.
With the EXPEED 7 image processor, you can shoot at a fast 30 fps burst rate and a staggering 14 fps with a mechanical shutter.
The camera can also automatically capture 30 JPEGS files before the shutter is released.
UHD 4K Recording and Versatile Video Control

Fast and Intelligent AF
The Zf uses an autofocus system that recognizes various common subjects such as dogs, cats, birds, trains, and cars. It uses deep learning to provide the correct focus and tracking for each one. Even though they're small in the frame, people, birds, and pets can be automatically locked into their eyes using Eye Detection AF with photos and videos. This feature is also available with manual focus lenses, which can magnify the area around their eyes to confirm sharp focus.
Vibration Reduction
The In-body 5-Axis Vibration Reduction system is designed to automatically compensate for up to eight stops of shake when paired with a Z-mount lens. This feature allows you to slow down your shutter speed by almost 8 stops, allowing you to capture amazing images without blur. It can also be used with F-mount lenses with 3-axis stabilization.
A focus point vibration reduction tool helps provide precise and smooth correction of the area around an active focus point. It works by applying stabilization to the part of the frame where it is located.
