RETURN POLICY

Woodland Hills Camera & Telescopes shall accept returns up to thirty (30) days after the date of receipt of an item.  Consumable items such as film, print or enlargement paper, disposible cameras, paper backdrops, darkroom chemistry, darkroom services, and cleaning products are non-refundable.  Custom or made-to-order items are non-returnable, and deposits or full payment may be non-refundable.  Be sure to discuss your options with a Woodland Hills staff member before ordering a custom item.   Returns may be subject to a restocking fee.  Please see below for more details.  

You will be responsible for all shipping costs
 
  • We will deduct the shipping and handling cost we incurred in shipping the item to you in the initial sale.
  • We will deduct credit card or Paypal fees (3% to 4%) for refunds over $500 that are not refunded to us. If you opt for store credit instead, we will waive this fee deduction.
  • Special orders are not eligible for return refunds unless defective.
  • We may levy 10% or more restocking fees for items showing signs of use or from your 3rd return onwards.

HOW TO START A RETURN

Start here with this form, please be sure to fill in all fields possible.  In the event of a damaged shipment or suspected manufacturer defect, there is a claim process that we must follow.  You will be contacted after submitting the form within 1-2 business days, and will be provided with either further information or an RGA number.  Please be sure to keep track of your original packaging as this will affect your return and be sure to review our return policy here on this page.   For any other questions, please email us at [email protected]

WHEN SHIPPING YOUR RETURN

 

  • Don't forget to put your RGA # on your shipping label only.  Returns will not be accepted without an RGA #.   If we provided a return label to you, your RGA # will be referenced there. 
  • Be sure to package your return with care, as closely to the original packaging as possible. 
  • If you are shipping your own return, we strongly encourage you to choose an insured shipping service to avoid any loss caused by the carrier.  Woodland Hills Camera & Telescopes is not responsible for carrier damage or loss.  

REASONS FOR RETURN AND RETURN PROCESS

Woodland Hills Camera & Telescopes or Shipper Error

In the event that you were sent the wrong item Woodland Hills Camera & Telescopes or, in the event of a dropshipment, the manufacturer, we shall correct the delivery as soon as possible and will cover any shipping expenses incurred.  

Manufactuer Defect

Every manufacturer has their own specific process to handle defects, which are most often covered by your product warranty.  They may opt to repair, replace or credit us for your returned item and may require additional information.  We will be in touch with those instructions.  Please do not ship any suspected defects to Woodland Hills Camera & Telescopes unless told to as this may affect your warranty. 

I Changed My Mind, I Ordered the Wrong Part

That's ok! You have 30 days to make your return.  All shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, and shipping fees are non-refundable. This includes any shipping costs for items shipped using our free shipping services, the cost of which will be deducted from your return.   If you need help finding the right part, we're here to help.  

Shipping Damage

** If your shipment was damaged in transit by the carrier, please contact us immediately.  All shipments are insured.  A process must be started with the delivery company as quickly as possible.  In the event of damage or loss, Woodland Hills Camera & Telescopes will work with you to get a replacement your way as soon as possible. **

Shipments are insured, but our claim process with each carrier does need to be followed for any loss or damage which may include requiring pictures or an inspection by a shipping representative.  We will be in touch with more instructions when you submit your request. 

RESTOCKING FEES

A minimum 10% restocking fee, charged on the amount you originally paid for the item, will be assessed should a product show any signs of use or assembly. This includes but is not limited to dust not caused by packaging, dirt, fingerprints, marred paint or threads, missing packaging, torn boxes or bags, clear signs of assembly or use, or any condition that would prevent Woodland Hills Camera & Telescopes from reselling your item as new.  Save your packaging!  All returns should be sent packaged as close to originally packaged as possible, 

ITEMS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN

All consumable and service items are not elible for return.  This includes but may not be limited to items like film, darkroom or repair services, rental fees, darkroom chemistry, ink, paper, batteries, and digital memory keeping products like flash cards.  Deposits or payments made on custom made or for products which Woodland Hills Camera & Telescopes may not be refunded for if cancelled, are also non-refundable. You will be notified in this case before making your deposit.  

WHAT IF I'VE HAD MY PRODUCT FOR LONGER THAN 30 DAYS OR I DIDN'T BUY FROM YOU?

You have a trade-in and we are happy to buy your used equipment!  Please visit our used equipment purchasing page and submit your product information. Be sure to provide any details you can so we can be provide you with an offer.  If you originally purchased from us or would like to trade-in to trade-up, be sure to mention that in your email.  Any pictures you can provide, details about your item, included accessories, what packaging you have or upgrades you have made will help get you an accurate quote as well. Once your message has been reviewed, an offer will be provided to you along with shipping instructions.  Upon your items' arrival to our location, they will be thoroughly inspected, assessed for condition, and a final offer provided.  You may have the option of either store credit toward a future purchase or check payment.
