The WG-8 delivers sharp 20MP images with low noise, thanks to its back-illuminated CMOS image sensor that supports ISO sensitivity up to 6400. It supports 4K-resolution movie recording in H.264 format, enabling the capture of high-quality extended movie clips at 30fps. Additionally, it features Movie Shake Reduction mode and Movie SR+ mode, which provide stabilization akin to using a gimbal for smoother video footage.

The 5x optical zoom lens offers a versatile angle of view ranging from 5mm to 25mm, equivalent to approximately 28mm to 140mm in full-frame terms. It supports ultra-close macro photography with a minimum focusing distance of 1cm.

The WG-8's GPS module automatically logs position and travel data onto captured images, receiving signals from both GLONASS and U.S. GPS satellites. It can imprint GPS data, directional information, and UTC timestamps on the lower right corner of each image.

Use the WG-8 as a web camera by switching to UVC mode, connecting it to a computer via USB cable, and then streaming Full HD video at 30fps.

The WG-8 features a high-resolution 3-inch LCD monitor with 1.04 million dots, providing wide-angle viewing. An antireflection coating on the monitor reduces glare, enhancing visibility even in bright sunlight. The Outdoor View setting allows adjustment of the monitor's brightness for optimal visibility in various lighting conditions.
